While Personal Ethnographies and Beyond Goodbye books are at the heart of my work, I also offer additional services to support memory, storytelling, and healing in different forms. These services can be added to a book project or requested as standalone offerings. Each is designed to deepen the ways we remember, honor, and celebrate lives—whether for memorial work or for personal legacy projects.
📖 Family History Archives
Every family holds a constellation of stories, some remembered and some at risk of being forgotten. I help collect and organize these histories—through interviews, photographs, letters, and personal mementos—into an archive that can be shared across generations. Whether it becomes a written book, a digital collection, or a simple organized record, this work preserves the voices, traditions, and experiences that make your family unique. It is a gift of memory, continuity, and belonging.
Sometimes what we need most is simply to be heard. I offer one-hour listening sessions where you decide the level of feedback you’d like—whether you prefer quiet presence, gentle reflection, or thoughtful conversation. These sessions create a safe space to share grief, memories, or personal reflections.
For those carrying difficult memories, I provide guided sessions to help process trauma and craft new ways of understanding painful experiences. This may involve reframing events, exploring personal narratives, and finding language to move forward. These sessions are not therapy, but they are rooted in empathy, respect, and the healing power of story.
Photographs bring texture and intimacy to memory work. I offer portrait sessions for individuals and families, as well as documentary-style photography that captures the spirit of gatherings, rituals, and everyday life. These images can be incorporated into books, memorials, or kept as standalone keepsakes.
For weddings, funerals, anniversaries, or other milestone events, I provide on-site services that document the occasion with sensitivity and care. This includes photography, video, and the gathering of live testimonies or stories from those in attendance—capturing voices and images that might otherwise be lost in the moment.
Children grieve differently than adults, and it can be difficult to explain loss in a way that feels both honest and comforting. To honor family members who have passed—like a beloved grandparent—I create memorial books for children. These are written in the style of a children’s book, telling the story of their loved one or their relationship in simple, heartfelt language with illustrations that bring warmth and light. I will offer you a selection of options to choose from.
These books help children hold onto memories, understand love that continues beyond goodbye, and keep their connection to someone they’ve lost. They can be read at bedtime, shared within families, or given as a keepsake that grows with the child.
Video allows us to see and hear memories in motion. I create short films or longer narratives that weave together interviews, archival material, and visual storytelling. These videos can accompany a Personal Ethnography or stand alone as a digital legacy piece.
For families or individuals who wish to share memories in more immediate and accessible ways, I can create social media-ready content—such as reels, short videos, or curated posts—that capture the essence of a person’s story. These can be used privately among family or publicly to celebrate a life with a wider community.
Every project is unique, and so are these additional services. Whether you are commissioning a Personal Ethnography, creating a Beyond Goodbye memorial book, or simply seeking a way to capture and share stories in another form, these services can be adapted to fit your vision.
The goal is always the same: to preserve memory, to honor experience, and to create lasting connections through story.
